About
I'm James Driscoll — I run Hot Tonic Mastering out of Dallas. One engineer, one room, no assembly line.
Music comes first for me. I gig, teach, and write for sync licensing, so a mastering session starts with what a song's trying to do, not just what a meter says.
I geek out on the technical side too — how analog gear actually behaves, what's happening under the hood of a reverb, building a chain, hardware and digital, for the record in front of me instead of a preset.
